Prof. Ashbir Singh (Director Operations & Head Advisor, Founding Member)
Prof. Ashbir Singh brings a wealth of expertise, backed by an impressive career in academia and industry. Formerly the Chairman of the Centre of Entrepreneurship & Innovation at J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, and a distinguished professor at IIT Roorkee, he has been pivotal in advancing research and innovation. Prof. Singh has also served as the COO of TAFE, the world’s third-largest tractor manufacturer, General Manager at Escorts Ltd., and Chief Manager at Ford Tractor Equipment in the UK. His teaching engagements have spanned premier institutions, including IIFT New Delhi, NSTU, DTU, and BITS Pilani.
An alumnus of IIT Roorkee with a degree in Industrial Engineering (Class of ’84), Prof. Singh holds an MTech in Production Engineering and a Master’s in International Business from IIFT New Delhi. As a BPR expert, trained at CSC Lucas in the UK, he is also a Fellow of IIM Bombay (formerly NITIE) and the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) Hyderabad.
Mohit Vohra (Managing Director & CEO, Founder)
Mohit Vohra is a seasoned entrepreneur and the visionary Founder of I-Board India Limited. With a career spanning over two decades, Mohit has held pivotal roles at renowned companies, including Thermax Limited, where he managed business development for absorption cooling solutions, and Tyco Electronics, handling key accounts in North and East India for electrical and electronic components across diverse industries like aerospace, defence, and railways. His experience expanded further with 3M India, where he led sales of advanced electronic solutions and collaborated with international teams on innovative product solutions.
Since 2008, Mohit has embarked on several entrepreneurial ventures, founding MV Electrosystems, MV Mobility, Prime Electronics, and Quadrant FutureTek Limited. His ventures serve critical sectors such as railways and defence with specialized products, from cable protection to train signalling systems. Under his leadership, Quadrant FutureTek introduced the “Kavach” Train Collision Avoidance System, a major milestone for India’s rail safety. Mohit’s journey reflects his dedication to engineering excellence and his commitment to delivering innovative solutions in the industrial and transportation sectors.
Amit Dhawan (Executive Director & Co-Founder)
Amit Dhawan is an accomplished law graduate with nearly two decades of expertise in networking and relationship management within the railway industry. Known for his positivity and strategic mindset, Amit approaches challenges as opportunities for growth, consistently optimizing resources and fostering key partnerships to achieve the best outcomes for his organization and stakeholders. As a Co-founder of MV Group of Companies he has been pivotal in establishing strong industry connections and driving business growth through his dedication and solution-oriented approach.
With a deep commitment to collaboration and harmony, Amit creates a cooperative environment, facilitating open communication and smooth interactions across teams. His leadership as Director has been instrumental in strengthening MV Group’s foundation, including I Board India Limited, where he has contributed significantly to developing robust teams and nurturing valuable partnerships. His blend of optimism, responsibility, and achievement has made him a vital asset, propelling the company’s growth and fostering a resilient network in the railway domain.
Aseem Hanspal (Director Marketing & Corporate Communication, Founding Member)
An engineer with an MBA in Marketing and coursework in Disruptive Strategy from Harvard, Aseem has built and scaled businesses with transformative impact. With over 30 years of leadership experience, Aseem Hanspal has a proven record of driving success across Fortune 500 companies. His background spans strategic roles in Sales and Marketing at leading firms such as Larsen & Toubro and Max Life Insurance. As Director of SKOPE for the past 12 years, he has enhanced business effectiveness by aligning strategy, people, and processes, working with organizations like Hindustan Times, Hyundai, BMW, AON Hewitt, and CBRE to achieve operational excellence..
In his new role at I-Board, Aseem draws on his extensive experience to drive market development in India and emerging economies, where he combines strategic insight with a hands-on approach to expansion. His strong networking capabilities and deep understanding of sales dynamics enable him to identify key growth opportunities, forge valuable partnerships, and implement effective market-entry strategies. Aseem’s expertise in aligning business goals with actionable plans makes him a critical contributor to I-Board’s success in capturing new markets and scaling operations across diverse regions.
Sumit Dhawan (Executive Director & Founding Member)
Sumit Dhawan is a seasoned entrepreneur with a rich background in driving innovation and growth across industries. Joining MV Group at a young age, he has become a pivotal member, leveraging his deep research expertise and strong commercial acumen to deliver exceptional value to the organization. His dedication to optimizing processes and products has been instrumental in I-Board’s mission to advance sustainable mobility solutions.
As Executive Director of Vendor Development at I-Board, Sumit plays a critical role in strengthening the organization’s supply chain and local manufacturing capabilities. His exceptional negotiation skills, combined with a strategic focus on developing parts and components domestically, have enhanced product quality and cost-effectiveness. Sumit’s commitment to fostering robust vendor partnerships in India aligns with I-Board’s vision of self-reliance and innovation, contributing significantly to the company’s product optimization and market competitiveness.
Lakhvir Singh (CTO & Founding Member)
With over 2 decades in the automotive and agricultural machinery industries, Lakhvir Singh has spearheaded a range of innovative projects that have contributed to industry advancements. He leads the Technology and Product Development at I-Board and joins as a Founder Member. Beginning his career as a Design Engineer at Standard Tractor Ltd. after earning a BTech in Mechanical Engineering, he played a key role in developing the pioneering 12+12 transmission gearbox for tractors. His expertise deepened with a Master’s Diploma in CAD/CAM from the Indo-German Tech Centre, after which he returned to Standard Tractor to lead the design and manufacturing of sheet metal components and the development of oil-immersed brakes for agricultural machinery.
Lakhvir’s career continued with impactful roles, including Senior Manager R&D at ACE Tractor Ltd., where he led the creation of a side gear shifting system now widely adopted in production. In 2019, he joined IPL Tech Electric as Design and Development Head, overseeing the transformation of TATA Signa trucks into fully electric vehicles and the design of India’s first pure electric heavy-duty tractor-trailer. His work in EV technology continues to support India’s transition to sustainable commercial transport solutions.
Rakesh Goyal (COO & Founding Member)
With over 26 years of expertise in the electronics and automation industry, Rakesh Goyal has forged a career rooted in innovation and entrepreneurship. He earned his BTech in Electronics & Telecommunications from YMC Institute of Engineering, Faridabad, in 1998, and began his journey in a small-scale company specializing in electronic control and automation instruments. This early industry exposure ignited his entrepreneurial drive, leading him to establish his own venture, VRM Digital Systems, after 5-6 years of hands-on experience. Over the past 19+ years, Rakesh has served over 150 cement plants and 150 automobile plants, delivering advanced automation solutions tailored to meet complex operational needs. Currently, Rakesh is the Operations Head at I-Board, where he has joined as a Founding member and working advancing sustainable mobility solutions for a greener, more eco-friendly future.
Ajay Kumawat (CTO & Founding Member)
A graduate of IIT Jodhpur, Ajay Kumawat began his professional journey as a Project Manager at IPLTECH, where he gained extensive experience in the heavy commercial vehicle industry. This role provided him with a deep dive into electrical controls, intellectual property management, vehicle homologation, after-sales service, and the development of charging infrastructure. Ajay Kumawat leads Battery Technology and Recharging Solutions at I-Board, bringing hands-on expertise in electrical controls, intellectual property management, vehicle homologation, and charging infrastructure development.
